• Hey so I have a question for all you pros who are good at billing:

    I have a client who has some occasional updates. She is saying that at our original meeting I told her I woudl charge her "quarterly" but I don't recall saying that. Should I charge her every month or just when I do updates and if so how much for just replacing the news section with new text?

  • Is she complaining about the amount of money, or just about the billing cycle? And how big, like is your fee even slightly an issue for her?


  • Well then you answered your own question. If you trust her then allow her to pay you quarterly. I just dont like that, because it forces me to keep track of how many updates I did. When I did the updates. I hate keeping track of anything.

  • Spend fifteen minutes making the news section load dynamically, show her how to do it, charge a one time "CMS" fee, and free up your future time. (:


  • no the fee isnt an issue I just NEED it to go smoothly in the future with billing becasue she is so busy. I trust her to pay but she is really busy so I need to set it up right. She wants me to do it not to be taught how to do it dynamically. What do you guys think?
